The Ala-Malmi Park

Behind the Malmitalo building, there is a nice park known as the Ala-Malmi park. Central elements of the park are the pavilion and ornamental pool with a fountain. A curved row of linden trees lines the central square, while a small rose garden showcases familiar rose varieties. The park is an inviting spot for a picnic or a game of pétanque. Designed by landscape architect Lars Barnö, it provides a relaxing retreat in the heart of the city.

Book the Ala-Malmi Park event area

The Ala-Malmi park's event area is free to book for small outdoor events (max. 200 people, larger event will need a specific permit) that meet the terms and conditions. The covered pavilion stage has electricity. Keys can be collected from Malmitalo’s custodians on weekdays, and toilets are available during Malmitalo’s opening hours. In case your booking is during the hiatus days of Malmi Summer of Events, the container stage is not available for use.

Book through the City of Helsinki’s Varaamo service. If your event does not meet the terms and conditions, apply separately for permission to use the area (see Varaamo for details).
