Meeting Rooms

Malmitalo is an affordable, easy and pleasant choice for any event, including meetings and courses. Malmitalo has two classroom-type meeting rooms, an art class and a dance studio available for rent. The larger halls are also available for meetings, lectures, seminars, movie screenings and the like, but please reserve early to fit your event in between art and cultural events.

Bookings for meeting rooms, the dance studio and the visual arts classroom can only be made online. We hope you find this practice easy and convenient. Please note that long bookings recurring over several days should still be made by email. See the booking instructions below.

Meeting facilities are free of charge for services within the City of Helsinki Culture and Leisure Division. The free-of-charge policy also applies to certain other groups. See the discount groups listed at the end of the page.

Meeting Room 2

The “Aquarium” in the first floor has large windows to the loft. The windows can be covered with motorised black-out curtains. The room seats 28 and is equipped with 65-inch wall display, PC with internet, wireless internet, a flip chart and an overhead projector.

Rent price (incl. VAT 25,5%): EUR 41/h


You can reserve the Meeting Room 2 on Varaamo. The minimum booking is 3 hours.

Meeting Room 3

Meeting Room 3 resembles a classroom, has 42 seats around tables and has the standard meeting room equipment: video projector, PC with internet, wireless internet, a flip chart, a blackboard and an overhead projector. Meeting Room 3 is perfect for meetings, training sessions and seminars.

Meeting room 3 is used by the Adult Education Centre for teaching on weekday evenings.

Art classroom 3

Art classroom 3 is located on the second floor of Malmitalo. The space is suitable for hobby activities, for example craft and visual art activities. The space is also suitable for celebrations and other social events.

Art classroom 3 is a small space intended for art work, with tables and chairs for approx. 20 people. Furniture of the space can be partially changed. The space does not have conference equipment or a sound system.

Rent price (incl. VAT 25,5%): EUR 41/h

Dance studio

The Dance Studio is on the first floor. The space is suitable for approx. 30 people and fits perfectly for activities such as dance, exercise and theatre rehearsals.

Rent price (incl. VAT 25,5%): EUR 26/h


You can reserve the dance studio on Varaamo. The minimum booking is 1 hour.

Discount groups

USE OF FACILITIES* IS FREE OF CHARGE FOR:

  • Activities of registered organisations and associations based in Helsinki
  • Self-directed group and civic activities by Helsinki residents and communities
  • Afternoon activities for schoolchildren in accordance with the Basic Education Act, as well as group and individual instruction in basic education in the arts
  • Religious activities, if several religious convictions are represented in the same event based on an open invitation
  • Open and free public events organised in cooperation with Cultural Services
  • City of Helsinki Culture and Leisure Division’s activities
  • Activities organised by other divisions of the City of Helsinki and the City Executive Office (reservations available no earlier than four weeks before the event)


USE OF THE FACILITIES* IS SUBJECT TO CHARGE

  • Private events (such as family celebrations and birthday parties)
  • Events that include commercial content
  • Religious communities and religious instruction
  • Activities organised by residents or communities from other municipalities
  • Election events held by an individual political party or candidate
  • Activities organised by other external actors
